Cooking Basics: Where Do I Start?

Learn The Easy Way From Grandma Carol

I learned cooking basics from my grandmothers and have been cooking for more than 50 years. I am anxious to pass on my passion and knowledge of food.

The only way to get good at cooking is to do it.

1. Acquire proper tools.*
2. Find a basic recipe of something that you really like.
3. Buy all the ingredients.
4. Read the recipe until you know exactly what to do.
5. Go for it.

My aim here is to introduce the basic cooking techniques to those of you who are not experienced in the kitchen.

  • The student moving away to college
  • The young person with their first apartment
  • The “empty nester” used to cooking for a brood
  • The senior tired of eating out all of the time

All will find helpful hints and recipes as well as kitchen know-how.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. My email box is just a few keystrokes away.

* One of the most important purchases you will need to make is a good quality, sharp knife.

  1. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew
of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates.
I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and
was hoping maybe you would have some experience with
something like this. Please let me know if you run into
anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.

  2. We absolutely love your blog and find nearly all of your post’s to be exactly what I’m looking for.
Does one offer guest writers to write content for yourself?
I wouldn’t mind producing a post or elaborating on many of the subjects you write with regards
    to here. Again, awesome site!

  3. Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see
if it can survive a thirty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83
views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had
    to share it with someone!

  4. Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic but
I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in trading
links or maybe guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My
site discusses a lot of the same topics as yours and I think we could greatly benefit
from each other. If you happen to be interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail.
I look forward to hearing from you! Awesome blog by the way!

    1. Maybe later. I am extremely busy with matters offline but I will keep your email and and contact you when things slow down at home.

    2. I’ll get back to you on guest blogging. As you can see I have been slow in posting. I have been ill but I will get back in gear soon. Carol
